In hard times people seek out for strong relationships. During the Holocaust almost all relationships were destroyed do to the intolerance of the Nazis. Families were separated and sent to concentration camps, and most friends never saw each other again. Do to this, people were pretty much forced to make strong relationships to help them survive. Usually these relationships were stronger than their previous ones. The presence of intolerance can inspire people to develop strong relationships as seen in The Diary of Anne Frank and Escape from Sobibor. In The Diary of Anne Frank, the people of the annex developed strong relationships do to the presence of intolerance. In the play, Peter says to Anne, “I think you 're just fine….what i want to say….
