From my conclusion America was not founded as a Christian nation. Yes, it is true that some of the early settlers came here to have religious freedom from the church of England, but the Founding Fathers were predominantly non-Christian. There is a lot of evidence to support that the founding fathers were mostly Deist or non-Christian. The origin of our country was founded on escaping the Anglican pressure of the Church of England. Some of the Founding Fathers like Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, and many more were not Christian, but that does not remove the idea of Christianity in the United States.

Then Benjamin Franklin was clearly not a practicing Christian, even though he suggested praying at the Continental Congress, which got shut down by the others,but Benjamin Franklin was quite promiscuous in his personal affairs. John Adams, the second President and first Vice President said this “The government of the United States is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion.” Our country was founded freedom of speech, religion, that all men are created equal, and many other rights we are entitled to still to this day.
