Is Chivalry Alive Today? Anonymous once said, “Chivalry is not dead, it just isn’t required anymore.” Many people argue that chivalry is in fact still alive, but it just isn’t taught in the world today. As the world keeps growing, the news generation of kids are not learning and are losing the idea of being chivalrous. Many of today’s teens grow up not knowing what having chivalry means. Although, many young teenagers are disrespectful, we can’t judge all teens in the world of doing this. I agree that many teens have honor, respect, and courtesy; however, a majority of teens are irresponsible, uncivil, and lazy. First, teens in today’s world are very irresponsible. For example, high school students are often asked to turn homework in on a specific today. They wait until the very last minute to turn it in. The teacher will give them an extra day even though they don’t have too. The next day will come, but yet they still make excuses to why they haven’t done it yet. I have personally experienced many teens using bad language, not using common courtesy, and talking during movies.These are a few prime examples of how teens are uncivil. Those examples are just common courtesy things to recognize to do. Many people wonder why teens do those things or act that way.
