The book NightJohn is a novel written by Gary paulsen, a slave named NightJohn becomes friends with another slave named Sarny. John teaches her how to read and write and Sarny gives him tabacco. In slavery you're not supposed to learn how to read or write but that didn't matter to John. John and Sarny looked out for each other and tried to help other people because slavery is wrong and they knew that. Friends look out for you and teach you new things, be kind and treat everyone the way you want to be treated.
“A friend will strengthen you with his prayers, bless you with his love, and encourage you with his love,” (Proverb Zone). Friendship is the helping of others by inviting them to be a part of one’s life. In Chris Crutcher’s Whale Talk, T.J. has to build a swim team that can achieve a letterman jacket to prove others wrong about themselves. Friendship is seen throughout many books including this one. In Whale Talk, Chris Crutcher demonstrates friendship ensures that people are not alone through school teams, anti-bullying, and mentorship.
These titles often helped Kaling seem more relatable to the reader because it helped show that she is not perfect and does not have the perfect life. Kaling is very real about her life and her struggles throughout the entire book and these titles further prove to the reader she thinks of herself as an ordinary person with the same daily struggles anyone else might have, such as dating and love. Kaling’s use of these cleverly titled sections gave her the chance to show the reader how similar they really are making it a unique organizational tool used to make her more relatable. Ferris Bueller's day off, they build a good friendship, but maybe with the wrong people. The director thinks that Carmen should get new friends because Ferris is doing all these bad things. We can come over this by finding the people who will support us and be nice to use so we could build a good friendship. In Ferris bueller's day off, they use the journey and companionship to reveal that, we as humans , have lots of friendships with people, but we must make sure we make friends with the people who make use stronger and better as a human being. In the short story “It’s That It Hurts” by Tomas Rivera, the main character (who isn’t named) is sad because he has no friends and has no time to make friends. This is because his parents are migrant workers, therefore he is always moving. On line 11 the boy says that “It’s always the same in these schools in the North,” inferring that he has been to multiple schools.
