Is Gymnastics a Real Sport?
The sport of gymnastics is in the olympics, but it’s apparently not a real sport. Gymnastics is in the Olympics, but some people strongly believe that gymnastics is not a sport. Gymnastics has everything that most other sports have, training, point scoring, teammates, uniforms. All that stuff is involved in soccer and other sports as well, yet gymnastics is by far more athletic most would agree with. Gymnastics is a sport because it involves a team and teammates, its very athletic, and it meets qualifications and things most would consider a real sport.

the place shows how hard their team has worked and come together to win. If they get last place, they know to step up their game so next time they can beat the other teams. Team scores are based on the top three athlete’s scores for each of the four events by team. The total team score is the sum of all twelve scores and the highest team score wins. For example, GymQuarters earned a team score of 114.75 points winning first place. Floor scores used were Meghan 9.75, Maddie 9.6, and Siri 9.5 or 28.85 points for that event. The most any team could earn on one event is 30, which would be three perfect 10 scores or 120 for all events combined. That activity may not have been added to the Olympics for reasons such as, it’s stupid, unsafe, or maybe the Olympic association thinks they have too many sports already in the Olympics. Even despite an activity not being a sport, gymnastics still is in the Olympics, so most would agree that it definitely is a sport. A quote pulled from “What are the qualifications to make an activity a sport.” Botello says, “almost all involve a ball uniforms, points, judges, and the physical and mental rigors of training.” This quote literally explains everything gymnastics has. Break it down. Almost all involves a ball, even though gymnastics is one of the few sports that doesn’t involve a ball, it doesn't mean that it's not a sport. Botello says “almost all involves a ball” so almost, not all. Points. Gymnastics is all about the points, at least when gymnast are at a competition. A gymnast starts with a 10.0 start value unless they don't meet all the requirements needed for the level
