Many Americans struggle with the grind of showing up to work everyday. Others unfortunately don't even have jobs. The economy is struggling with issues like inflation, supply chain problems and finding enough workers. Many young people across the country are trying to find work. With colleges raising tuition, it can be crucial to get a job, but businesses want more experienced workers. Without getting hired it’s impossible to gain experience. It is fair to pay teens less than adults because it opens more job opportunities for them and they have less experience. A lower pay rate for teens would encourage businesses to hire them. In the article “ Is it Fairs to Pay Teens Less Than Adults?,” it states that a lower minimum wage for teens would open the door for them to gain more work experience. This work can help them learn career skills and valuable life lessons. Once they have work under their belt, they can move on to bigger jobs. With the unemployment rate higher than ever, it is hard for teens to keep work. With lower rates for teens it gives them a higher chance of keeping their jobs. Although some may argue that this encourages discrimination, it’s truly just paying by skill and experience. This evidence proves that the lack of years in their resume can prevent teens from getting jobs of equal pay. It makes sense to pay someone less for doing less work. Instead of employing all the teens, making their pay lower brings benefits to all. Therefore, lowering teens' pay can allow them to keep their job even with less
