There are many women that have contributed in making the world a better place, but the one that I think stands out is Dolores Huerta. She is an idol because of her living style and utmost propriety behavior impacted the lives of many, especially Mexican women. Her life was fulfilled with morality, dedication, and equality. Dolores Huerta was the second child born to Juan and Alicia (Chavez) Fernandez on April 10, 1930, at Dawson, New Mexico. North of Dawson, Dolores lived a submissive life in a small mining town near the mountains.

Nora Rodriguez is a heroine because she helps immigrants in any way she can. One way she does this is by helping them with their immigration paperwork at a reduced cost. In the article called, "Honduran Entrepreneur Helps Central American Immigrants Gain Legal Status in Mexico" by Mayela Sanchez, states that "she charges customers one-quarter of the price as other people do. " This is an example of how she is a heroine because there are many people out there that will exploit the immigrants for their own gain and take advantage of their situation. Nora learned this harsh truth as stated in the article, "she was learning hard truths about the lives of her fellow Central Americans in Tapachula, including the fact that the people who purported
Clara Barton, founder of American Red Cross, fearlessly risks her life to help rescue soldiers on the battlefield, exemplifying attributes of a heroine. She is a hero in many ways. We may think of her as a hero for her work for equality but the opposite to many in her time.

Debi Mazar is an actress who stated, “A hero is somebody who is selfless, who is generous in spirit, who just tried to give back as much as possible and help people. A hero to me is someone who saves people and who really, deeply cares.” Heroes are relevant to everyone, because at some point, everyone has had a hero. The first reason why The Grimké sisters are heroes because, when the Sarah was younger, she broke the law of slavery, she didn 't believe that only white people should have rights, “Sarah, the older, did not tell anyone when she secretly taught slave children to read, something that violated state law” (Nadia T.). And Angelina had also chosen the path her sister took, “Angelina Grimke chose a different path: Like her older sister, Sarah, she left the South and devoted her life to racial and gender equality” (Nadia T.), believing the government should change for the good, which proved her to be a hero too because she chose a path that benefited other people
Heroes in our society are revered and respected as Joseph Campbell reminds us: “A hero is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself” (Joseph Campbell). Heroes exist in all societies and throughout history. Maybe they are not always on the news or from the movies, but their words and their actions never fail to resonate across their feats. A hero gives of himself and dedicates himself to causes which better others and their society unlike individuals who are self serving, greedy, and cruel.
