'The Hunger Games' directed by Gary Ross, is an extreme demonstration of what the world could be coming to. The Hunger Games is relevant to today's society because it is a perfect demonstration of our world meets the future. It embellishes what is happening in this day and age. Taking one woman and man from each district to fight to the death and then whoever wins will live in luxury for the rest of their lives, as a reminder of how 'giving' the Capitol is. Later on in the film when the Game Maker is talking to the President about how he likes an underdog trying to get out of trouble for giving Katniss high marks for shooting an arrow at their pig's apple in its mouth. The president goes on to talk about how he doesn’t like an underdog as it gives hope. Hope is good in small amounts, but when everyone has hope, it will undermine the balance of his control over Panem. The president admits that his operation is fragile and it can easily be undone with only one thing. That is hope. These things are a showing you about how Panmen is being run under dictatorship. Dictatorship is bad. Dictatorship gains control over exploiting
