At a young age Isadora Duncan was introduced to ballet and noticed that her movement was unique and different. She studied her movement and knew exactly what she had wanted to do with it. She then, she had a goal to show her talent to people. She wanted to share her discoveries about her connection between dance and emotion. Her journey started when she auditioned for a drama company in San Francisco. Isadora Duncan was born in San Francisco, California on May 27, 1877. She was the youngest of four children. One included her two kids and their nanny drowning from the car falling in the Seine river. (Editors 1) That was a horrible time for Isadora to have to go through. Isadora had many other things going on with her, including her marriage. Her husband, Yesenin, committed suicide and suffered from severe mental health issues. (Editors 1) She emotionally struggled for almost the rest of her life. Despite tough times, she did many great things throughout her lifetime. She was talented and had a heart for dance. (Editors 1) Duncan founded dance schools in the United States, Germany, and Russia. Her dance students were called “Isadorables”. I think that is a precious name for her young dancers. ( Editors 1) Isadora Duncan danced and choreographed with many different important people in dance. At age 16, she had an audition with a drama company then performing in San Francisco. (Kozodoy 23) Then Isadora traveled to Chicago. Duncan and her mother arrived in Chicago on a very hot day. (Kozodoy 23) Isadora Carried a short, white greek tunic that she always wore when she performed, the seventeen year old dancer plodded through the streets seeking auditions. I can imagine seeing her in the tunic, it must've been beautiful. During her traveling of dancing with different at different places, she danced for one manager after another, until she settled.
