A worldview is a particular philosophy of life or conception of the world. As Christians, we are to have a Christian worldview in every aspect of our life. In the book Ivanhoe, written by Sir Walter Scott, there are different parts which show that there is evil in the world and it shows just how much we need God. The first example of evil is how the Saxons treat the Jew, Isaac, and his daughter Rebecca. Although Isaac is very wealthy the other men treat him as though he were garbage, instead of as an equal human being. While captive in the castle, unlike the other prisoners, Isaac is taken to the very bottom of the castle and tortured. Galatians 3:28 states that “There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus”. God treats us all as equals and we should do the same to each other. …show more content…

While her father was in the dungeon, Rebecca was in a room of her own, and while she was still treated as a prisoner, she was treated with some respect. While she was there, regardless of the fact that she was a Jew, Front-de-Boeuf tried to seduce her. The only things that Rebecca had to offer were her looks and her money and clearly Front-de-Boeuf was attracted to both.
