Jamaica can be divided into three landforms regions the eastern mountains the central valleys and plateaus, and the coastal plains. The most elevated part of Jamaica is the Blue Mountains it is located in the Eastern region. There is four bodies of water the Black River, Montego Bay, Negril and Port Antonio. There are fourteen provinces and three major citie. The cities are Kingston, and Spanish Town. Jamaica has two different types of climate there is an upland tropical climate prevails on the windward side of the mountains also there is a semiarid climate predominate on the leeward side.

However African Continuities are present in religion life, Jamaican language, cuisine, proverbs drumming the rhythms of jamaican music and dances traditional. Family life is central to most although formal marriages are less prevalent than in most countries. It is common for three generations to share a home. Many women own wages particularly in households where men are absent. Grandmothers often take care of the young children. The main meal is almost always in the evening because most people have not time to prepare a midday meal. Sundays tradition dictates that even poor families enjoy a large and sociable brunch/lunch.
