Being a leader means defining and exhibiting moral and ethical courage and setting an example for everyone within any given group. Being a leader helps you teach leadership skills to your family, friends, and employees who will then help do the "heavy lifting" of moving the masses from where it is today to where it needs to be in the future. In today's day in age, people will believe that great leaders are born to lead.
At Ballou Senior High, a crime-infested school in Washington, D.C., honor students have learned to keep their heads down. Among the mere handful of students with a B average or better, some plead to have their names left off the "Wall of Honor" bulletin board; others hide during awards ceremonies; only a few dare to raise their hands in class. Like most inner-city kids, they know that any special attention in a place this dangerous can make you a target of violence.

I am also going to mention who I would have followed if I was in the book Lord of the Flies. Leadership is a very big and important role to come by in today’s society. Gaines, the most important lesson to learn before dying is to accept things that are right and change things that are wrong , to live the best possible life you have. The lesson in the transformation can be seen in the transformation of the three main characters, Jefferson, Grant and Tante Lou throughout the novel. Firstly, the lesson to accept things and try to change things, so you can live the best and possible life, can be demonstrated through Jefferson’s life in the novel.
The National Honors Society places a strong emphasis on the cornerstone traits of character, leadership, and service within the school and outside of school. I have met, and exceeded these qualities by being honest, assisting others, and participating in school activities. My character has always been an important aspect within my life. This is because character is comprised of honesty, selflessness, and compassion. No matter what the situation is, it has always been important to me to be honest with not just those around me, but with myself.

Character traits help shape a person into what they are, there are ways to change them and become a better person. In the short story Charles, written by Shirley Jackson, a boy named Charles possessed many different negative character traits in which some include being, obnoxious, dangerous, and disrespectful. Charles displayed immature and unnecessary trouble for all the students and teachers. Being obnoxious means extremely unpleasant and Charles was just that in this short story. Charles possesses the trait obnoxious because all the children in the class were trying to listen to the story while the teacher would be unable to read due to the noise.
ntroduction I have completed a self diagnostic profiling task which has helped me to analyse if my behaviours, understandings and skills tend towards management or leadership. I had to score myself between 1 and 5, with 1 being closer to management and 5 being closer to leadership. Out of 24 questions 21 of those questions were scored closer to leadership. My results show that I am a leader.
