In “Everthing Will Be Okay,” by James Howe, the nice, friendly boy named James, it not like the boys in his family. He is his family because, James doesn't want to go hunting like all the other boys do, James doesn't harm Smoky when he sees him and cares from him, and especially because James doesn't want to hurt the sick cat and clench it tightly to his chest.
Furthermore, James is not like the boys in his family because he does not want to hunting, because he does not like to kill any animals on earth. In the beginning of the story, James says “When I am older, I will go hunting with my father the way my brothers have done. I try not to think about this. I want to go, because i want my father to like me. But I don’t want to kill animals.” He does not like to kill or hurt them, but he just wants to go so his father will like him. …show more content…

In the story Jame says, “At the supper table that night, I don’t speak. I don’t look at my brothers face or my father’s or mother’s. I look at the tree branch outside the kitchen window where the deer once hung. My brother is saying about taking me to the driving range tomorrow. He will teach me how to hit a golf ball.” As you can tell from the text in the story, James is mad right now because he want to take Smokey to Dr. Milk, and the mom just says Dr.Milk won't make it better.
