James Monroe was born on April 28, 1758; He went to college called William and Mary 1774 to 1776, He graduated from college and went into the army during the first years of the Revolution. He fought in Trenton, NJ; he almost died because he was wounded (shot) in war, but lived. Then he entered Virginia Politics, after he entered National Politics and had sponsorship from Thomas Jefferson. In fact, James Monroe’s family was descendants from Scotland that immigrated to America in the middle 17th century, James Monroe had 3 Elizabeth’s in his life His sister, His mother, and his wife. In fact, James Monroe had the first inauguration outside so, now all the presidents have had their inauguration outside. His daughter Marie Monroe was married in the white house which was requested by James Monroe himself. James Monroe is the first president to travel by a steamboat to go on a tour of the Southern States. (He also took a tour of the Northern States, which made him the first president since Washington to travel so largely among the states.
What I think about my president, I’d say he was a good man but there’s stuff that I don’t like about him, he was one of those people who believed to own slaves and at the time James Monroe owned a slave. Some good things about him were his education, college, and that he graduated, that’s something I could idol.
