His father, Robert James, was a baptist minister who married Zerelda Cole James, which later on moved their family to Kentucky, Missouri in the summer of 1842. Shortly after moving, union soldiers brutally attacked Jesse, and hung his father, which thankfully survived, but lived with mental problems the rest of his life. For this reason, and other harsh treatment the two brothers received, they joined the Confederate army at only 16. This began him, and his brothers life of crime.
In 1768 he began to clear a mountaintop on the property to prepare for the building of a brick mansion that he would later build and name Monticello. He was very interested in gardening and architecture. On January 1, 1772 he married Martha Wayles Skelton. They moved to Monticello and had six children. Martha died in 1782 and he never remarried.
In the early chapters of James’ story,

Rikki is an upstanding character, but he did not always demonstrate these qualities. Teddy invited him in, but he was disrespectful in their house. He was excellent in the hour of need, but he still was not always a honorable character. Rikki was not a very good house guest. Teddy and his family welcomed him into their home and he didn’t even say thank you.

James I, born June 19, 1566, was the King of England, Great Britain, and was Scotland 's short-lived king. James was known to be a controversial ruler and was hated by Parliament. He thought he had the “divine right” to rule England and the rest of its territories. Divine right means to have been given power by God, himself. James I was first born the king of Scotland but James I became king of England after Queen Elizabeth died.
Lena Headey once said, “It’s a feeling without a lid, of what you do, physically, verbally, to protect the one thing that is your greatest love.” This is just what Rikki-Tikki is like, he protects the ones he loves without the blink of an eye and tries his hardest to ensure their safety. Kind of like a firefighter, don’t you think? When reading Rikki-Tikki-Tavi, almost everyone will know he is a determined character willing to do anything as long as his loved ones are safe. The theme of the fictional story Rikki-Tikki-Tavi by Rudyard Kipling is people are willing to do most anything to protect the ones they love.
This proves that although James is trying to or into his family, his emotion(s) put a major roadblock in his path. Another reason that supports this idea is on page 4. While and after the kitten is dying, he lets his emotions pour over and doesn’t care what his family sees of him, only about the dead kitten.
Wright is best known for a lot of exceptional pieces of literature such as “Blueprint for Negro Writing” which is somewhat of a declaration of independence from Harlem Renaissance writers. Richard Wright was born 1908 on a plantation near Mississippi. Wright personified the classic American dream. He went from being deprived intellectually and in poverty to a figure stone in literature. It was Wright’s childhood that shaped his dream for getting an education.
