Rikki is an upstanding character, but he did not always demonstrate these qualities. Teddy invited him in, but he was disrespectful in their house. He was excellent in the hour of need, but he still was not always a honorable character. Rikki was not a very good house guest.Teddy and his family welcomed him into their home and he didn’t even say thank you. He wandered around the house without asking, and made a mess of their it. He put his nose in writing ink. Almost drown in the bathtub. He climbed on the big man’s lap, without asking, and was sniffing around his cigar. He was getting too close too fast, he started calling them his family right away. He also says things that are rude verbally. He calls Darzee “...a stupid tuft of feathers.” He threatens to kill Darzee’s babies, by saying, “If I could get up to your nest I’d roll your babies out!” He also interrogates Chuchundra, and calls him names. He smashed Nagaina's eggs even after she promised she’d leave. She said she’d never come back, too. He also didn’t consider how Darzee felt after he threatened to smash her eggs.
