Lena Headey once said, “It’s a feeling without a lid, of what you do, physically, verbally, to protect the one thing that is your greatest love.” This is just what Rikki-Tikki is like, he protects the ones he loves without the blink of an eye and tries his hardest to ensure their safety. Kind of like a firefighter, don’t you think? When reading Rikki-Tikki-Tavi, almost everyone will know he is a determined character willing to do anything as long as his loved ones are safe. The theme of the fictional story Rikki-Tikki-Tavi by Rudyard Kipling is people are willing to do most anything to protect the ones they love.

Now, we know for a fact that mongooses do not talk to muskrats. They might communicate to each other, but they don’t speak English. Rikki Tikki and Chua are having a conversation about Nag, and note that they are speaking to each other in the English language (para 39). Since they are talking to each other, we know that this shows anthropomorphism because anthropomorphism just means the attribution of human characteristics. Not many can say they’ve seen a mongoose talking to a muskrat at night, in fact, not any! Rikki Tikki is telling Chua to tell him what Chua's brother told him, but Chua is afraid to tell him. His brother was talking about Nag, which is why Rikki Tikki wants to know so he can save his family. This also proves that Rikki Tikki is determined to find out what Nag and Nagaina are plotting, and if there wasn’t anthropomorphism then we wouldn't even know what was happening in the story. Rikki Tikki also tells Nagaina, “Turn round, Nagaina; turn and fight!” He is yelling at Nagaina to fight because he has the last if her eggs and she can hurt his family (para 86).This is an example of anthropomorphism because he is yelling at Nagaina to fight him, and let’s just remember mongooses don’t yell. Rikki Tikki is determined to kill Nagaina this time, so he yells to her to fight. He knows
