For Jane Austen, the social classes and integrated social manners were a catalyst for her writings. She had perceived through the social problems first hand, recording all her views and thoughts through novels that speak a great magnitude about people and the society that she lived in. These novels later became literatures of great importance and told of the conflict between manners and morals whilst dictating magnificent stories. Before Austen was a renowned author, she was the daughter of George Austen and Cassandra Austen in Steventon, Hampshire England. She was born on December 16, 1775 as the seventh child of her family. Her submitted works brought substantial profits, giving her a life of stable income. Austen continued writing until her death on July 18, 1817 at the age of forty-one. It was only after her death was she revealed to the public as the author of her many acclaimed works. Austen’s writing defined human complexity quite well and was received by the readers of her time as relatable and satisfying. She created works of joy during a period where Britain was usually at war. Some of her works include Emma, Persuasion, Sense and Sensibility, and Pride and Prejudice. Pride and Prejudice was especially renowned, gaining popularity upon its publishing in 1813. Persuasion was a posthumous novel, published with the help of Cassandra and Henry Austen. Austen received credit for her works, but was arguably not fully recognized until A Memoir of Jane Austen was written by James Edward Austen-Leigh in 1869. This publication brought renewed interests in Jane Austen’s work whose copyright had been purchased by Richard Bentley in 1832. From all the way back then to now, Austen’s works have always been distributed. She has become one of the most well known authors in history and is credited for providing insight on the society of her time.
