On December 16th, 1775 in the town of Steventon, United Kingdom, some people say one of the greatest writers in English history was born. While not experiencing the full effect of her novels during her lifetime, author Jane Austen could have never imagined the lasting impact her literature would have on people for centuries to come. In this biography, I will be focusing on Ms. Austen’s family life, love life, and her timeless accomplishments. To begin, Jane Austen was born to the parents of Reverend George Austen of the Steventon rectory and Cassandra Austen of the Leigh family. Only the second daughter of seven children, Jane quickly formed a close relationship with her older sister Cassandra and her father. All through the children's upbringing, they were engulfed in an environment of creativity and curiosity. Jane’s education relied on what her brothers and father could teach her, and of course what she could learn through her reading. With an extensive library thanks to Mr. Austen, Jane and Cassandra relentlessly read many novels and improved their writing skills which would eventually turn into Jane taking interest in writing her own pieces of literature. Her whole family, especially her brother Henry and her father, really pushed to get her novels published. Many of her books became successful and it helped her family financially. She died on July 18th, 1817 in Winchester, United Kingdom. After her death her brother published her final works for her finally revealing her name to the world. Austen’s legacy lives on though, as she has won many awards including the USC Scripter Award and All About Romance Reader Anonymous Award. She has had a lasting legacy on thousands of people and perhaps that’s the biggest accomplishment she could have
