Jane Austen is one of the greatest and well known English author, who has written some classic novels in the 18th – 19th century. She was born in Hampshire, England in 1775 and passed away in 1817 at the age of 41. Before her death, Jane completed six novels which include Sense and Sensibility, Pride and Prejudice, Mansfield Park, Emma, Northanger Abbey, and Persuasion. Her novels still remains popular and very well known to this day in the English literature as it portrays themes of wealth, women independence, the social society, and the difference between romance and realism. Throughout the entire story, the men and women are being called by their last name instead of their first name, demonstrating a polite way of addressing someone with higher status and power. Mr. Bennet, Mr. Darcy, Mr. Bingley, Mr. Wickham, and Mr. Collins all play an important role in the story and the Bennet girls’ life.
