Jane Goodall: A Life in the wild Jane Goodall an animal rights activist from London who made it her lifelong journey to educate the world about chimpanzees. She has made known the obscure ways chimps live and learned some new behaviors of chimps that were never observed. She entered a world where little was know about these amazing creatures and has now spent decades expanding her mission to protect not only chimpanzees, but other primate species as well.
Today she still advocates people on how better understand the bigger world around us. Jane Goodall was born on April 3, 1934 in London, England. He was impressed with her energy, general knowledge, and extreme interest in animals. He then decided to hire her as an assistant and then shortly asked her to undertake a study of primates on the beach at Gombe and she agreed, although many experts believed Goodall was no good because she had no scientific education or a college degree.
On July, 16, 1960 at the age of 26, went back to Africa for the second time in her life long with her mother to shed some light on these creatures. The first week was frustrating for Jane because the chimps would panic and run away before she got close enough to observe them. She then realized that she had to earn the trust of these shy animals.
It took a good two years for Jane to fully earn their trust. She became familiar with more than 100 chimpanzees by trying to imitate their behaviors, spending time in the trees, and occasionally eating their foods. She then discovered that the chimpanzees have a complex social system and have their own language system. She was the first to witness that chimps not only eat a diet of plant material, but they also eat meat.
