Jane Goodall is not your ordinary human, she is a human that has proved many scientists wrong with her research of chimpanzees in the wild; they did not believe Jane’s research and this only motivated her more. She also went on to make other discoveries, such as finding that chimpanzees had personalities and actions that resembled those of humans. Although Jane is well known for her research and interactions with chimpanzees, she is also known for educating youth about nature itself. Jane Goodall never knew if she would get the opportunity to study animals in the wild. She started out as a little girl with a dream of living among wild animals and studying them; Jane turned her dream into a lifestyle by never giving up hope and conquering the changes that she met along the way. Jane Goodall is educating people on the preservation and conservation of nature (Fonda 101). Jane is not your normal scientist, she can connect with animals and nature in ways no one else can. She is using her background knowledge on chimpanzees in the wild - and other plants and animals - to educate society today. Goodall developed a program called Roots & Shoots in 1991 to educate young naturalists about nature and how we can make our environment a better place. This program is special to those children who wanted to learn about nature, because it is not in their everyday curriculum. Goodall has truly played a major role in protecting and preserving our environment through educating people and sharing her story.
