American Love Story What does an individual characterize as how a song can define themselves? Jason Derulo's song The Other Side can define an American individual in how most people want to find someone else to complete themselves. An American individual is someone who falls in love without even trying. It begins in how two people are only friends with one another. Then slowly, but surely it can escalate into something more meaningful. If the individuals agree it is the right move for them to become a couple then it will happen. Even though individuals are often faced with doubt and the fear of losing the other one. Yet, sometimes everything falls into place as if it were meant to be. Each individual has to take the risk of the unknowns which will come eventually. Derulo talks about the possibility of how this relationship can turn into something real and genuine.“This could be perfect” This quote explains if they take the chance together with one another it can be something they have never dreamed about before in their lives. Every person gets nervous in taking a step farther with their significant other. Jason is elaborating the affects of every individual how they feel getting into a relationship. Personally from experience, relationships are nerve racking because no one has a clue what is going to happen. Derulo is familiar with the concept of individuals being nervous in relationship so often times he will be there to reassure. “I know you’re nervous” The quote explains how the guy can tell the girl is nervous about getting into the relationship and how she is completing her decisions if she wants to further it. So often many times the guy will be the pants in the relationship to let her know everything will be okay. Derulo is explaining how often some individuals do not know how fast or slow the relationship should go so the other individual will say go with the flow. “So just sit back and let me drive” This quote states how the guy is up for helping to guide his girl in the relationship, because he knows it will comfort her.
