It originated in New Orleans and has spread all across the world. Jazz has become very popular, made many musicians famous, and has evolved into many different types of jazz throughout the years.

Jazz became popular in the 1920’s in New Orleans. It formed from the experiences the slaves faced. The original music itself was an African style music and was usually performed in groups. Jazz was also a mixture of African roots with Europe instruments. The musicians who performed were either a child or grandchild of a slave, giving them a close connection to the music .
