Mikasa isn 't jealous. She doesn 't do jealous. She just doesn 't like Annie, that 's all. Never had; never will, Mikasa decides, taking a long, contemplating sip of her Pepsi as she watches Annie giggle a little too hard at one of Eren 's jokes—most likely the one about Sarah falling off of the swing, followed by the whole knock-knock joke that once made Mikasa laugh so hard she cried. She tries not to gag as she watches Annie tuck a strand of blonde behind her ear, a flirtatious smile pulling the corners of her lips upwards. It 's more of the fact that Annie never acts like this when she 's not around Eren—instead she 's cold, cynical and downright bitchy. So no, she 's not jealous. She just doesn 't like Annie. "Hey, stranger," Mikasa calls out, and Eren playfully sticks out his tongue in retaliation. It 's immature, childish and stupid, yet it 's totally okay when Eren does it—because everything he does is perfect, and it hurts Mikasa to know that he 'll never be hers. "What 'cha two up to, then?" "Eren was just telling me a joke," Annie answers, her voice clipped. It 's slight and not enough for Eren to notice, but Mikasa definitely does. She shoots a deliberate, pointed glare at the blonde, and they stare each other down for several long moments until Eren randomly suggests, completely unaware, "Let 's play spin the bottle!" He says it as if it 's the most genius idea ever, and the enthusiasm in his voice eases the stress Mikasa had felt earlier. "Yeah," Annie agrees, something in her voice which feels like a punch to Mikasa 's gut. "I bet you 'd like that, wouldn 't you, Mikasa?" "Shut it," Mikasa snarls and Annie snorts. Eren, still oblivious, announces it to everybody in the room with a loud, boisterous: "Who wants to play spin the bottle?"
