Is man inherently evil? Are we all born good? Are we all born evil? Do we all possess the ability to be evil? In the book Lord of the Flies there are two boys who get stranded on an island in the middle of the ocean due to a plane crash and the boys on the island start to become less civilized young boys. People are all born good, but good people have the choice to become evil in many ways. When babies are born society teaches them the difference between good and bad. A number of researchers now believe differently. The researchers believe that babies are born with an innate sense of morality. The parents and society develop a good or bad system in the baby’s minds to teach them what’s good and bad. Rousseau says “Man is born free, and he is everywhere in chains.” The reason why he says this is because humans are corrupted by society. Society chooses to deceive us with subliminal messages throughout the entire world we live in. They have subliminal messages in television ads in America. For example in the KFC snacker ad the lettuce has dollar bills on it to tell us that society tricks them telling them If you eat this burger you get the money too, but you don’t. Another bad thing that society does to us to make us not think good is when fast food restaurants make TV ads with their new burger with a woman eating it. This is saying if you get our burger you get the girl too but you don’t this is something that they do to make
