Scout’s relationship with Jem is comparable to the relationship with Atticus. First, Scout’s relationship with Jem is comparable to the relationship with Atticus because scout looks up to them. Scout looks up to Atticus when she needs help with questions she doesn’t know. An example of Scout looking up to Atticus is when she asked Atticus about what was happening in Germany with Adolf Hitler and the Jews. This is comparable with Scouts relationship with Jem because Scout also looks to Jem for guidance like Atticus. An example of Jem asking Jem about the trial and what he thought what was going to happen. First, Atticus’s relationship with scout is more of a “Boss and worker” type of relationship. This is shown when Atticus scolds Scout for going onto the yard of Boo Radley and when Atticus makes the decisions for Scout like at the trial. Scouts relationship with Jem is different from her relationship with Atticus because her connection with Jem is comparable to a “Worker and worker”. This type of connection is shown when Jem argues with Jem about going onto Boo Radley’s yard, even though she still goes she stood up against Jem’s decision something she would not do for Atticus. Another difference of Scouts relationship with Jem and Atticus is that they both help Scout in different ways. Atticus helps Scout more on the emotional side of problems. Atticus and Scout’s relationship is shown when Jem makes Scout cry and when she cries she runs to Atticus for comfort. Now, Jem helps Scout differently comparable to Atticus because Jem helps with physical type of problems things. This is shown when Jem fights the people who are attacking them and when he helps get Jem out of the school with the least amount of ridicule. Lastly, Scout’s relationship with Jem is different than her relationship with Atticus because Atticus and Jem both teach Scout different things.
