Like a candle in the dark lighting up a single area with its flame and its sweet scent, before dying out into smoke a bitter burning afternote, outlier, Jennifer Pan is also a contradiction. She was the favorable child in her family growing up. But it took a very surprising dark turn that no one would ever expect from her. Her family, wanting the best for her, set limitations in her life in order for her to achieve a good education. But how do you think Jennifer feels? Wanting freedom from her tiger parents, Jennifer Pan is a deceiving person because of her actions. Jennifer Pan was the golden child in her parents eye’s. Her parents working, Jennifer at school. After a long day, everyone is going to bed. Until a shocking 911 call is received to the dispatchers from Jennifer. “ Someone broke into our house!”(Hansen, Chris). a terrifying event was taking place in her home. Which leaves her to just desperately ask them (the dispatcher) for help. She claims that two black males broke into her home yelling “ where’s the f***king money”(Hansen, Chris). in front of her parents. Jennifer was terrified so she went to her room, closed the door, and hid in the darkness of her room. She said she heard footsteps coming up her stairs, it didn’t sound like her parents footsteps. Being curious Jennifer opens her door for a quick peek that didn’t end well for her. Jennifer goes on by saying that the two men found her, tied her arms behind her back with a shoelace, and tied her to the tailing of their stairs. Then the madness began to take place in her home. Her parents Bich Ha and Hann Pan both scared to death, were told to kneel down. They followed to the commands that the men were telling them to do. Both her parents worried for Jennifer begged the two males to not kill her. The males proceed by covering both their heads with a blanket, shooting them five times all together. Killing Bich Ha and what Jennifer thought her father as well. But the her surprise “ her father ran out of the house” (Hansen, Chris). So investigators took it into their own hands and tried to make Jennifer spill the truth about what happened that night. At first she went with her plan story by just saying that it was simply a home invasion. But what she didn’t know was that “ Han Pan is alive, out of his coma and talking”(Hansen, Chris). Her father reported that on the day of the murder he saw Jennifer talking to the two males, like she knew them already. Which surprised investigators. So they made Jennifer spill out the truth of what happened that night by peer pressuring her. She begins by saying that “ She was forging her report cards...she never graduated high school”( Hansen, Chris). Which led to her family knowing a false history of her education. So this whole time she was lying about her life “achievements”. She then goes on by saying the reason as to why she did this was because after meeting her boyfriend Daniel Wong, who was a part time drug dealer. she felt the need to lie more, she knew her parents would be very angry at her. She thought that by lying to them they would never find out. Until one day her parents decided to follow her to college but it took a crazy turn because instead of going to college her parents found her going to Daniel Wong's apartment and she would stay there until school was over. Her father being the strict person he is said that she either has to move out of his house, break up
