In this essay, I will talk about President John Fitzgerald Kennedy and his impact on the United States and the rest of the world during his presidency. I will explain his most significant personal accomplishments, the new programs he implemented, how he approached the Cold War and interacted with other countries. I think that J.F. Kennedy was one of the most influential and remembered presidents of the United States. He was a very interesting figure to me and I am glad to expand my knowledge about him. According to Britannica, "John F. Kennedy was born on May 29, 1917, in Brookline, Massachusetts. He had 8 siblings, and his relationship with them was very competitive. He ran for Congress in 1946 and served three terms in the House of Representatives, from 1947 to 1953, as a liberal. He advocated for many changes for the financially disadvantaged. Changes such as better working conditions, higher wages, lower prices and rents, more public housing, and more social security for the elderly. In 1952, he ran for the U.S. Senate and served from 1953 to 1960. John Fitzgerald Kennedy won the 1960 presidential election. On November 22, 1963, Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas." I think his biography is really interesting and fascinating. I will focus more on his political decisions in the next paragraph. I'm presenting to J.F. Kennedy's most important political decisions and his approach to the Cold War. In his 1961 inaugural address, Kennedy said: "My fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country." From that moment on, he served his country as president. In 1961, Kennedy created the Peace Corps to promote international cooperation and counter Soviet influence.
