The tragedy which occurred on November 22, 1963, was a day on which Americans thought that all hope was lost. JFK was assassinated by a bullet in the back which exited through his throat and a bullet to the right temple of his head. The Warren Commission was appointed by Lyndon B Johnson to investigate the case and concluded that Lee Harvey Oswald was the lone assassin who perpetuated the crime. Since then, many theories have been created, due to the fact that the investigation by the Warren Commission was clearly rushed mainly to satisfy the public and stop all conspiracy theories. Ruby was a nightclub owner at that time and may have been tipped off by the American Mafia in return of his problems which would be solved by the Mafia. Conveniently, Lee Harvey Oswald was also in New Orleans handing out political leaflets but no evidence could claim he had any relation to the Mafia. This contact could be the way the Mafia would not let Oswald reveal the real identity if he met the Mafia by placing Ruby there to silence him. It was stated in the report that Lee Harvey Oswald took 3 shots at Kennedy from the 6th floor of the Texas School Book Depository. The Warren Commission theory that Oswald was indeed the lone gunman can be proved by 2 major points. The first point stated that witnesses saw a rifle on the sixth floor of the depository with some stating they saw the rifle right after the assassination. During the treatment of Governor Connally, a near whole bullet was extracted from his thigh and fragment of another bullet found on the seat of the limousine. Through ballistics examination, the Warren Commission concluded that the bullets were fired from a 6.5-millimeter Mannlicher-Carcano rifle which was found and recovered on the sixth floor of the Book Depository. Three used cartridges were found near the rifle and also matched the gun. The second point concludes that Oswald shot Kennedy using the evidence provided. Oswald was in possession of the Mannlicher-Carcano 6.5 - millimetre Italian rifle which he bought and was sent to him by mail.
