On 3/29/2016 I spoke with Leahanne Garcia at the operation. Leahanne stated she has been employed at the operation since May 2015 as a Teacher assistant. Leahanne stated on Wednesday (3/23) that the children had just woken up from nap and Andi was leading circle time, while she was moving the block center shelf back to its position. She stated the children had started to get up from the rug for center time when she heard Andi yelling "get up, get up" and was yanking Isiah up by his arm. Andi then started telling him "you will listen to me" while pointing a finger in his face.
14.01.16 – 21.01.16 During this block I was given the opportunity to take floor book for the first time. As previously mentioned, I had difficulties communicating with some of the children in the nursery. I strongly believe my communication have come a long way since reflecting on them and this improvement was presented during floor book. I was able to quickly identify that the children had a mixture of abilities when it came to understanding and answering questions.
I picked to watch a child at a football practice. The child that was observed is approximately an 8 year old male that is African-American. Additionally, his height is approximately 3ft 5 inches and his weight is around sixty pounds. The hair color of this child was black and his eye color appeared to be brown. He was wearing a white jersey with blue sleeves and a helmet that was similar to the San Diego Chargers.
In an essay entitled “The Toxic Silence” written in support of further investigation into the Atlanta Child Murders, Tayari Jones recounts a memory from her days at Spelman College. While attending school, she also worked as a tutor for a fourth-grader named Jemmie who she would pick up from his bus stop before their lesson. One day Jemmie never arrived at his bus stop. Jones says she was alarmed to the point that her “heart [was] splashing in [her] chest” as she “doubled over, clutching [her] stomach, and vomited on the corner of Ashby and Fair”; once she collected herself she asked her dorm mates to form a search party. Later after finding Jemmie safe at a neighbor’s house, she realized that every dorm mate in her search party had been born
Jimmy Little is a dark brown skin fourteen-year-old boy who lives in an apartment with his legal guardian that he calls "Mama Jean". In the morning Jimmy like to spend a large amount of time looking at himself because he like his morning face. He is a very intelligent African American but during his tenth grade year school started getting hard for him. Jimmy skip school most of the time. Sometimes when he doesn 't have school he help Mama Jean on her babysitting job at Mrs.Summer house.

It comes with a parent who doesn’t give up.” In the book, “There’s a Boy in Here” by Judy and Sean Barron, Sean is diagnosed with autism(a mental condition portrayed by trouble in conveying and framing associations with other individuals and in utilizing dialect and conceptual ideas) and his mother, Judy Barron, has helped her son overcome the obstacles that have he had to go through his whole entire life. Sean was born in 1960.
In Infant and Toddler Practicum, I am observing at the Hannibal Children’s Center in Hannibal, Mo. At the Hannibal Children’s Center I am currently in the Journey A room, which is a toddler room. In this room, the toddlers ages range from one to two. The teacher in the toddler room while I am there is Dana. In the Journey room, there is always two teachers in the room, unless there are four children. There is at least one teacher that is the head teacher in the room when there are two teachers in there.
Throughout the story, the narrator makes statements such as, “There was not a sound in the classroom, except for Miss Ferenczi’s voice, and Donna DeShano’s coughing. No one even went to the bathroom” (Baxter 140). The children are interested and engaged in hearing what she has to say. The group that I chose to observe consisted of four members. Three of the members were part of a family, including the mother, the older sister, and the younger brother. The fourth member I soon noted was the older sister’s friend who had tagged along. They had all come to Culver 's later in the evening to get ice cream a little after dinner time. As soon as they had found their table and sat down the mother had asked the three children what they would like to have.

After the first two 20 minute sessions observing Taylor’s physical development, the following two 20-minute sessions were on Taylor’s cognitive aspects of development. At first, Taylor didn’t show any interest in me. He seemed puzzled by my appearance and would frequently look at me. However, he seemed to have a good understanding of his mother. He would smile at her and was seen frequently lifting his hands when his mother came towards him.
For the second ten minute observation, I observed was during the teacher during circle time. They do a 20 minute circle every morning and the children love it. For this observation, I would give the teacher a rating of 5 for responding to social cues. During the circle time, she would ask questions and let the children talk. She would pick on kids with their hands up and allow them to speak and she would also pick on the kids that clearly wanted to talk, where either trying to talk without raising their hands.
OVERVIEW The elementary school that I observed at, Orchard View Elementary, was located in Delray Beach, FL. The location was very accessible and right off of the highway. The teacher I got assigned to was Ms. Diann Johnson. She teaches a class for students in 3rd-5th grade.
During the anecdote with J.S. and T.M., both children were placed in-group work. The children both had three other peers at their table. The children were able to communicate and share the materials that were at the table with their peers. • Emotional Milestones o The child has a vivid imagination (J.S.) ("Child Development Screening", p. 7). During the anecdote, J.S. has a vivid imagination because he pretends to destroy a rectangle.
The classroom that I will be observing is a Preschool classroom at KinderCare Learning Center in Bartlett, Illinois. The teacher I will be observing over the next period of time is Laura Sturgulewski. She has worked at KinderCare for 8 years, mostly in the 2 year-old room until fall of 2013, when she took the lead teaching position of the Preschool classroom. Her classroom mainly has 3 year-olds, but on occasion has a mix of 4 year-olds and transitioning 2 year-olds. The number of students in her class depends on the day, because they are a child care center some students have a part time schedule, unlike an elementary school where children attend every day.
