J.K. Rowling was born on July 31, 1965, in Yate, England (J.K. Rowling). She was born to James and Anne Rowling and she was born with the name Joanne Rowling though her nickname was Jo (Pollack, Belviso 15). Joanne had a little sister named Dianne Rowling who was about 2 years apart from her (Pollack, Belviso 16). Jo loved writing from an early age, in fact, when she was about 5 she wrote her first book called “Rabbit”, it was about a rabbit with measles (Eby). “Jo’s first day at Tutshill Church of England school in September 1974 was not a success. Rowling). “the seventh and final installment in the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, was the largest ever pre-ordered book at Barnes & Noble and Borders bookstores, and at Amazon.com.” (J.K. Rowling). The first Harry Potter movie was released in November 2001 and made over 93.5 million dollars and was the top-grossing movie of 2001 (J.K. Rowling). The next 7 movies were released in later years and the movies were definitely just as successful, maybe even more!
