Fictional books are always entertaining. People love them. This is why most authors of fictional books are loved by readers. One of these authors is Joanne Kathleen Rowling, or J.K. Rowling. J.K. is a world-famous British author named the author of the century. She is best known for writing the fantasy book series of Harry Potter. The books have given her so much fame, that she is often asked to be interviewed, people recognize her and snap her photo in public, and fans wait for hours in lines, just to meet her for one minute. J.K. Rowling was born on July 31, 1965, in Chipping Sodbury, England. “When J.K. was young, the Rowlings moved to Winterbourne, England. Later, J.K. would use memories of this town and its people in her writing.” (Tieck 6) Her parents were Anne and Pete Rowling, and she had one sister named Dianne. J.K.’s mother died of multiple sclerosis in 1990. J.K. soon after got a job as an English teacher in Portugal. She was married there and had a daughter named Jessica. Rowling has always been interested in writing. She grew up with a family who loved to read, and she has a great imagination when it comes to her stories. J.K. actually wrote her first book when she was six years old, and has just gotten better and better since then. J.K. started off slow, with a job as a secretary, and an English teacher. She disliked these jobs, and wrote on her free time. Near the beginning of her school days, J.K. did not do very well. She was thought to be dumb in her school, but this did not stop her. she worked super hard until she was considered one of the “smart” students.
