John Adams like his second cousin name samuel Adams was born in Braintree later to become quincy, Massachusetts. Adam graduated from harvard in 1755 and become a lawyer in 1764. Adams was an active campaigner for independence. In 1778 Adams was posted to Europe as a diplomatic envoy. In 1789 Adams was a runner up to George Washington in the presidential elections and was appointed Americans first vice president. In 1800 Adams ran for a second term as president, but he was defeated by his great rival Thomas Jefferson. John Adams died on July 4, 1826 the same day as Jefferson.
