Time is wasted by everyone in school and is wasted in various ways, for example students are given busy work and teachers rush through a curriculum while students learn nothing. Reflecting on the responsibilities of the Catholic school principal, I found myself agreeing with the responsibilities described by Merylann Schuttloffel in her work, Character and the Contemplative Principal. Schuttloffel (2003) reminds readers of the additional responsibilities unique to Catholic school principals. Specifically, Schuttloffel (2003) states, “…Catholic educational leaders act to insure that students learn what it means to be Catholic- both morally and intellectually.” (p.2)
The ideal model of schooling for young adolescents is the middle school model. The middle school model allows for a smooth transition from elementary school to middle school. Firstly when in cooperating classroom management before you even meet your pupils there are a few thinks to consider such as the design of your classroom to meet the holistic goals of your class. As the teacher you will have to structure your classroom that it will give off an welcoming feeling to the pupils, so they will be comfortable to work in that environment. As humans we sometimes get carried away when we are doing well, anything! However when setting up your classroom it is important not to clutter the walls especially with un useful charts and posters that are not relevant to what the pupils have learnt.
