The Life of John F. Kennedy In January of 1961 at the age of forty-three, John F. Kennedy was the youngest man ever elected in office. Although he participated in office for only a little over a thousand days, Kennedy made a memorable mark on America that citizens will never forget. With his charming noble looks and his youth, America loved the Kennedy’s despite all the extracurricular rumors. A nearby citizen assassinated Kennedy in Dallas, Texas and the nation mourned his death. As many have always known him, John F. Kennedy was one of the most influential presidents to serve in office because of the characteristics that he withholds, such as being an honorable and trustworthy man that America admires. John Fitzgerald Kennedy, the second of nine children, was born on May 29, 1917 in Massachusetts. Kennedy came from a particularly, wealthy family which his parents expected a great deal from their children. His father, Joseph Kennedy, was an independent, notorious businessperson who invested a large quantity of capital. During Kennedy’s final years at Harvard, he wrote a paper on Great Britain leading up to World War II. The following year, John F. Kennedy enrolled in the United States Navy, and later many people knew him as the “Hero in the Pacific” after saving many lives in a Japanese bomb attack.
