John Fitzgerald Kennedy was born on May 29, 1917, into one the wealthiest family in America. He was the second child of eight children. His mother was Rose Elizabeth Fitzgerald Kennedy and his father was Joseph Kennedy Sr. He graduated from Harvard later attended Stanford University School of Business. Then he was his father’s secretary and traveled around Europe with him (White House). Afterward John entered the Navy in 1941, when he returned from war, Kennedy became a Democratic Congress man of Boston in 1946. In 1953 he moved up to the Senate (History). He had a bad back, so he was always taking pain killers and other types of medicines to easy he pain (Libby). Kennedy was the 35th president of the United States. Kennedys wife Jacqueline Kennedy, Texas Governor John Connally and with his wife, were joining the president during this time. Vice President Johnson was three cars behind them in the motorcade. A little after 12:30 p.m., Lee Harvey Oswald fired three times from the sixth floor of the Texas School Book Depository building. The president was shot twice, once in the neck and once in the head, and Governor Connally was shot once. Libby Nobles told me that when President Kennedy was struck by the bullet he fell into Jacqueline’s lap. JFK was pronounced dead about thirty minutes later at the Dallas' Parkland Hospital. Everyone around the world was shocked. Oswald was arrested for the Kennedy’s assassination, but was shot and seriously wounded two days later by Jack Ruby while being led to jail (History).
