Born May 29, 1736 in Studley Hanover County Virginia to John and Sara Winston Henry, Patrick Henry was a happy child and worked very hard even though sometimes the crops grew very little. Patrick Henry married at age eighteen to Sara Shelton the year of 1754, who he later had six kids with. For a wedding gift, Sara’s father gave them six slaves and three hundred acres to start Red Hill plantation in Virginia. A little while later Patrick had to sell the land because the soil was not fertile because of a fire, which caused the crops not to grow. He tried to start a business several times but each time he tried he was unsuccessful, so he decided to start studying law.
On the one year anniversary of the factory it produced 21,674 of steel making the Edgar Thomson Steel Works factory the worlds largest modern steel mill ever. Andrew Carnegie was now the "King Of Steel" (DE Capua 29). He made this claim while working out a way to produce 10,000 firearms for the US military. First, was Whitney’s invention of the cotton gin.
The Reb and Pastor Henry both were strongly committed to their religious doctrines and spent a great deal of their lives contributing to the well beings of others. Their stories began fairly similar, young men that strived for greatness, but came in contact with abounding obstacles in life . Pastor Henry grew up in an unstable home environment. The importance of school and God wasn’t reinforced constantly, but the use of drugs instantaneously became a way of life. During his adolescence, he developed a strong love for God and took him as his savior at the age of twelve, but then took a path in his teenage years that led him to drugs and violence.
Patrick Henry, a man who spoke with eloquence, addressed the second Virginia Convention on March 23, 1775, in St. John’s Church, Richmond Virginia. He truthfully said, “I speak the language of thousands.” His mother, Sarah Henry, a Winston, and his father, a Scottish immigrant, well-to-do planter, John Henry, had him on May 29, 1736. Patrick Henry was their second of nine children.
When you are crossing a railroad, there are many things that you need to do to cross safely. You always have to slow down when coming up on a railroad. Then if the lights are on, you must stop between 15-50 feet away from the nearest rail. As soon as the train has passed and the lights turn off and the bar comes back up, you may pass. At night, do not assume that a train isn't coming.
For example, when Carnegie was first assigned to build a mile-long bridge across the Mississippi River from East to West he faced the decision of finding a material that would be strong enough and could support the long distance. He came up with the decision to use steel but the metal was very expensive and he soon fell behind two years of construction. In the end, after four years, at the age of 33, Carnegie was able to build the first major bridge, uniting America across the wide river. (Magan, Ruan and Patrick Reams). The belief Carnegie had, of steel building America, became a reality when he used the relationship of steel with railroads.

It is evident that King Henry is desperate for a good night’s rest for in the dialogue, King Henry uses numerous rhetorical approaches to woo sleep. For instance, at the beginning of the soliloquy, King Henry uses eulogizing terms to refer to sleep as if to allure it to come upon him: “O gentle sleep!” and “Nature’s soft nurse.”

Walking down an empty street, listening to the sound of your own footsteps.” This means to fight for what you believe in is hard especially if your the only one who believes it, and Drummond describes it as the loneliest feeling in the world. The author's craft used in this quote is imagery because the author uses sensory details.
Henry emphasizes that the government's current tactics to gain liberty are not working, by questioning them. Henry asks “Shall we try to argument,” should they use reason to negotiate their freedom with the British government? He assures the Second Virginia council that would not work “Sir, we have been trying that for the past ten years.” He explains that failure is inevitable, if they are merely negotiating. Henry is implying they need a direct approach in order to achieve freedom: war.
The Plague Everybody must die soon. There was one situation that was causing several people to die. This time it was not war or people killing each other. People now were living life in an innocent way. They were doing their best to make a living for their homes.
James I, born June 19, 1566, was the King of England, Great Britain, and was Scotland 's short-lived king. James was known to be a controversial ruler and was hated by Parliament. He thought he had the “divine right” to rule England and the rest of its territories. Divine right means to have been given power by God, himself. James I was first born the king of Scotland but James I became king of England after Queen Elizabeth died.
In Patrick henry’s Speech at the Virginia Convention, he sought to get his opinion across to the colonists. In this speech Patrick Henry tries to persuade the colonists to declare war against the British. Patrick Henry uses appeals of shared values, facts and data, and figurative language to entice the colonists to join the fight for independence. Patrick Henry uses appeals to shared values in order to address the colonists that they all share the same mission. For example, Henry claims “But different men often see the same subject in different lights.”
