In document D it quoted " it will be highly conducive for accomplishing those ends, that a regular colony of the said poor people be settled and established in the southern territories of Carolina." This meant that the trustees was going to put an end to the struggle of poor people. They were going to provide them with land and enough resources to care of themselves and their families. In the background information, it also stated "the project was the brain child of James Olgethorpe, who devoted himself to helping the poor and debt-ridden people of London." The trustees were not just trying to make England thrive, they also had a charitable body to help everyone succeed
The Tea Act sparked the final revolutionary movement in Boston. A company from East India, burdened with eighteen million pounds of unsold tea. The tea was shipped directly to the colonies, and to be sold at a bargain price. The Townshend duties were still in place, however, the radical leaders in America found reason to believe that this act was a plot to buy popular support for the taxes already in force.
This book is unlike anything I’ve ever read before. Chris LaFata’s, Washington’s Providence makes one wonder if there is more to what happened in the past than we actually understand. This story is a very unique and different than anything I have ever read in my life. I believe this is the only book by Chris LaFata, which surprised me because he is such a great author. I love both history and science and this was a mixture of both.
1, Which account is a primary source? Both the The Boston Gazette and Country Journal and Captain Preston's account are primary sources, though the second is more reliable. Because they both appeal to people who were primary observers, but there are degrees of confidence in the given source. Newspaper are writing from a third person about what different people told them in their accounts, instead Captain is telling the situation he lived himself. 2.Where is the bias in the Newspaper Account?

Document 5 and document 7 show the purpose that individual overview is not effective. Government intervention would allow for a more prosperous and effective society instead of divided ineffective self government. Each document comes to that realization. Additionally document 5 wants to limit the monopolies or trust that have complete control over the economy with government interaction such as restrictions implementation. It also says that we are at war with humanity and its elements and that the need for the government to interaction is crucial to society.
John Winthrop was a Puritan who had every advantage in life. He was born into a wealthy family that was able to provide him with everything needed to succeed. His family was a part of the gentry class, which was the dominant force in English society during his time. He attended Trinity College at the age of 14 where he studied law. This theory, Social Darwinism, was applied to the monopolistic efforts of businessmen as John D. Rockefeller, Jr. so eloquently stated: “The growth of a large business is merely the survival of the fittest” (Nash p. 417). The Gospel of Wealth based on Social Darwinism is the notion that the massive wealth held by prosperous businessmen was for the social benefit of everyone. The advocates of the Gospel of Wealth such as Andrew Carnegie, Russell Conwell, and Horatio Alger linked wealth with a sense of heightened responsibility as those with more wealth had an equally great obligation to society. Each of the advocates of the Gospel of Wealth came from diverse backgrounds, but preached the same ideals.
The ideas constructed by the Puritans were not simply a principal starting point for American culture because they were the first in the country, but because they offered distinct ways of thinking that are still deep-seated in our culture today. Totalitarianism is a political and social concept that explains a form of government where the state has all control over the civilians. Such government assumes full power, without any limitations. As put by Juan Linz, a totalitarian scholar, the three main factors of a totalitarianism government are “a monistic center of power; an ideology developed, justified and pursued by the leadership; and mass participation in political and social goals encouraged and even demanded by that same leadership” (Silberstein 42). Throughout the 20th century the manifestation of totalitarianism was an extreme measure of harsh political occurrences.
