Richard Howe could be considered the most successful general, when compared to William Howe and George Washington. The bases of this argument are mainly; the military experience of each general and the number of recorded mistakes made by each general during their military expeditions. One of the main reasons, Richard Howe was the most successful general was because of his vast experience in military leadership or command. In hindsight Richard Howe had far more experience of being a military leader than William and Washington as he was enlisted in the Royal Navy in 1739 and then became Admiral, the rank of the highest naval officers, in 1775. He was also serving as commander in chief, “the officer holding supreme command of the forces in an area or operation”, of a Mediterranean fleet.
During 1754 “Lieutenant Governor Dinwiddie(governor of the British) he prompted Washington to lieutenant colonel of the Virginia Regiment and charged him with raising an army of two hundred men to defend Fort Prince George.” () He had struggle and many farmers refused to give food, horse, unsteady wagons. Even in a month, they only had 150 men and they didn’t have any uniforms to wear or tents to protect them from the rain. Also they had few cannons with them.

• A president needed to be elected • Many Americans thought that the government was the main threat to their rights • James Madison wrote that the government had to be powerful enough to protect people’s rights, but not so strong that it could control rights of people • By May 25th, the convention was officially underway • George Washington was very admired by most Americans • Delegates decided on the rules for the next convention
In February 1789, George Washington was elected to govern the United States. Washington felt it was important to watch his every move and judge every stride very carefully. There was definitely method in his madness though. Along with internal problems (like the Native Americans) beginning to arise, trouble was toiling across the Atlantic as well. In France, the need for a revolution and a change in powers was bending the country out of shape.
This specific book changed my outlook on my hometown. I thought I knew a lot, but in actuality I don’t. My hometown is relatively historic, and when I think about it, I think I need to know more about it. Before reading this I thought that everything, and every place was established by white people.
George Washington / President #1 / Served 1789 through 1797 / NO PARTY Background: Even before being elected the first president of the United States of America by the Constitutional Convention in 1787, Washington held a large role in America’s early history. With particular interest in the military and colonial expansion as a young man, Washington acted as a land surveyor in the state of Virginia, served as a prominent military leader in the French and Indian War, and was an outspoken member of the Virginia House of Burgesses. During the Revolutionary War, Washington served as the Commander in Chief of the Continental Army, elected by his fellow delegates of the Second Continental Congress in May of 1775. He was able to lead the colonists
The book 1776 rewrites the prolific story of what many historians consider to be the most important year in American history. The book contains a vast number of characters that serve many key roles in the story but one could focus in on the five that have the largest impact in the story. Beginning with King George III of England, the enemy in most American’s eyes. King George in the story appears to be genuinely wanting to gain the colony back. He was definitely strongly opposing the American push for independence from England.
Jared Nielsen Constitution Final George Washington George Washington was the first President of the United States of America. He was a great leader and he had a firm belief that the United States must insist on its national identity, strength, and dignity. His object, he wrote, was to keep the country “free from political connections with every other country, to see them independent of all, and under the influence of none.” According to Stephen Knott a professor at the U.S. Naval War College, Lawrence, George's beloved half-brother and mentor, had commanded a local militia in the area near the Washington family home.
In today’s society it is rare to encounter one who is completely independent. People depend on human contact and the help of fellow civilians to supply for basic needs. I myself could not have made it on my own. I depend on my family to supply shelter, food, and basic life skills that have kept me alive. On the summit of Mt. Everest the clients, guides, and Sherpas from the 1996 expeditions experienced many of these same needs.
This painting shows George Washington, then a general in the American Revolutionary War, crossing the Delaware River with his troops on the night of Dec. 25, 1776. Lord Durham was a man with liberal beliefs who was sent to Canada to study the affairs of British North America. He was given the task of writing a report, which would give suggestions on how to solve the problems Britain was facing with its colony. His report shook the systems already in place and changed Canada forever. To some he is a hero, but to others he is very much disliked. Nonetheless, Lord Durham’s report directly led to the colonies of Upper and Lower Canada being united.

George Washington’s Presidency George Washington, as every American has known since around pre-school, was our nation’s first president. But what if we didn’t have a president? Maybe a king, or even a theocracy? Originally, George Washington thought that maybe a constitution may not work, and a ruling elite may even work better (William P. Kladky). The Constitutional Convention had many long and heated debates on how to best create their government to give equal power to all branches of the government, and a board of three was one of the contenders (William P. Kladky).
Now, to be fair, we could say that the trip into the future was too subtle as it did take me half the book to pin down exactly what had
