Good morning ladies and gentlemen. I would like to start off by thanking you all for making time to be here today. Like I had stated before, name is Essie J. McKinley. Mr. Johnny Cade is charged with concealed weapon, leaving the scene of a felony, and voluntary manslaughter. The reason we are here today, is to answer the question: Is Johnny Cade actually guilty?
Johnny Cade, one of the members of the Greasers was born on March 1st, 1949 and sadly passed away in the year of 1965. The cause of his death was he went in a burning church and was burned and a broken back. One of his accomplishments was him saving the children. Johnny died from the cause of him saving children from a burning church. Dally was proud of him because he did a hero.
Johnny Cade lived on the street for most of his life until his good friends Ponyboy,Curtis,Two Bit,Mathews,Sodapop,Darry Curtis,Dallas winston, and steve randle and johnny were not just Family they are his best buds they are always there for him. Also he survived by his mother and father 's johnny died a hero after injuries suffered s’]/,[ving young kids from a fire that broke out. He will be missed
Another gang affiliate of the Black Disciples was the Devil’s Disciples street gang, who was led by David Barksdale. David Barkdale was a migrant of Mississippi and one of thirteen children. Larry Hoover became interested in the gang life and joined a street gang known as the Supreme gangsters in 1963. He thrive to be the boss and had the ambition to be in charge, so he killed Alex Rein to become the new leader. The Supreme gangsters are rivals to the Black P Stones, Vice Lords and the Latin Kings.

Some people are insane, crazy, some might call them psychotic. Johnny Cade is the least psychotic person known in the book, The Outsiders. Johnny is a character from The Outsiders, this is a book based around a 1960’s gang war. There are 2 gangs and Johnny was a member of the Greasers gang. He murdered a member of the opposing gang they called the socs in defense of his friend Ponyboy and himself.
When the police officers arrive on the scene Dallas started to wave his unloaded gun at the officers which gives the officers the idea that he's about to shot back, but unfortunately Dallas was gunned down by the police. A clear sign of the gangs influence on Johnny was when he decided to prevent the Soc’s from drowning Ponyboy and defending himself instead of letting the Socs beat them up and have them possibly drown Ponyboy. More specifically, after finally fighting back and killing Bob, he says to Ponyboy “‘I killed him’ he said slowly. ‘I killed that boy”’(Hinton 56). Here the author is explaining how shocked Johnny was once he killed the Soc.
Ponyboy lived with his two brothers Darry and Sodapop after his parents were killed in a car accident. Ponyboy had some friends in the gang: Steve, Two-Bit, Dally but his best friend was a boy named Johnny who was considered the gang`s mascot. Ponyboy was a boy who always wanted to be tough but an accident that happened in the story might make him change of mind on what he wanted to be. He also finds a way of how to finish the gang that was taking place from many tima.
Hook: Would you ever convict an innocent boy who acted out of defense of himself and his friend of murdering person who constantly attacks him? The answer should be no. Background information: Known as his “greaser gang’s” pet, Johnny Cade grew up in a household with no role models. Not only was he constantly bullied at home, he was attacked outside as well. Johnny was continuously being assaulted by Socs looking for trouble and he would never fully recover from the trauma in which he has been through.
Violence was much more powerful than we imagine not only because it led tremendous dis- aster, but also due to the deep impact on individuals. In the book of the Outsiders, the violence of Johnny’s family, the other greasers, and their opposing gangs, the Socials, strongly affected Johnny. The Violence of Johnny’s family impacts Johny’s natural instincts, which means that some of his characteristics were already fixed since he was born, and influenced him in daily life. Johnny grew up in a family without care, love, and understanding.
Johnny probably had one of the worst lives of the greasers, yet he still managed to stay optimistic even after being beaten on an almost daily basis. Johnny would also stand up for people even after being isolated for most his life, as shown when Dallas was harassing Cherry and Marcia. Finally the most loyal of them all, even on his deathbed he stuck by his friends and only allowed them to vist and not his horrible mother that ignored him for most his life. At the beginning of the novel, Johnny lacked confidence and self-esteem. At times he thought about attempting suicide. S.E. Hinton describes Johnny as, “A little dark puppy that has been kicked too many times and lost his crowd of strangers” (11). This is because Johnny 's parents are abusive: his mother verbally and his father
