On the night of the murder, five drunken Socs pull up on the street and attacked Johnny and Ponyboy. One of the Socs tried drowning Ponyboy while at the same time Johnny felt threatened by another Socs named Bob which led to Johnny killing him in self defense. Johnny is justified in what he did and is not guilty because he was defending himself from the Socs. The Socs had threatened to harm Johnny and Ponyboy earlier that night and Johnny recognized Bob as someone who had attacked him before. Johnny recognized Bob from the last time he got jumped in the abandoned lot.
On January 29, 1991, a vile crime occurred in the Heikkila home in Basking Ridge, New Jersey. Twenty-year-old Matthew Heikkila, the adopted son of Richard and Dawn Heikkila loaded up a “sawed-off 20-gauge shotgun” (Sullivan). He labeled shotgun shells “Mom” and “Dad”, and shot his parents both in the head. Matthew plotted the murder to get the chance to steal his parent’s credit cards, and treat his girlfriend to a birthday dinner. Matthew then left his parent’s dead bodies on the floor of his home and he and his girlfriend enjoyed a night in NYC.
On October 18th, a teen in Meridian, Idaho shot and killed a 15-year-old, but police say the the shooting was an accident. 18-year-old David Provencio was smoking marijuana and consuming alchohol with many others in a home close to East Franklin Road. Provencio said that he pointed the gun and shot the victim, not knowing that the gun was loaded. And the kid who was shot was pronounced dead at the hospital. When the authorities arrived at the scene they were told that the kid shot himself while there were several children and a few adults there at the time of the shooting.
Before the boys ran away to the Church in Windrixville, Johnny Cade was wanted for the murder of Bob Sheldon. Ponyboy was wanted as an accomplice in the murder of Bob Sheldon. Police have sorted through all of the evidence of the scene at the water fountain and through the rubble of the Windrixville Community Church. They have also interrogated multiple witnesses including Cherry Valance and Randy Anderson.
Description of the Crime On the night of Sunday December 14th, 2014 70 year old Tommy Burdett was killed and his house burnt down with his body inside (Anderson, 2014). In Foley, Alabama on that Sunday night Brandon Michael Bledsoe, 33, and Heather Elizabeth Raftery, 21, broke into the home of Tommy Burdett in an attempt to rob him (Anderson, 2014). Bledsoe shot Burdett in his bed with a 22. Calber rifle five times, which was his cause of death (Anderson, 2014).
At the beginning of chapter 4 on November 12, 1963 the tragic death of Bob Shelton occurred. Johnny Cade is put responsible for the death, he states him and his friend Ponyboy got into a tussle with the Socs which lead to the unexpected death of Bob. The leading argument is between if Johnny is guilty or innocent for the killing. Johnny’s Defense Attorney Kenidy Shows believes Mr. Cade is innocent and was using self defense.
Johnny Cade was forced to kill Bob Sheldon in order to save Ponyboy Curtis’s life. This incident began when Bob Sheldon and four other Socs came to the greasers’s territory (the East side of town) intoxicated. They were upset that Cade and Curtis were associating with their girlfriends. The Socs insulted Cade and Curtis, and Curtis insulted them back. This led to the Socs drowning Curtis’s head in a water fountain.
“‘I killed him,’ he said slowly. ‘I killed that boy. ’”(Page 56). Some may say that Cade was acting in self defense, that his and Curtis’s lives were being threatened by Bob Sheldon. First of all, Sheldon was not the one who drowned Curtis, but it was David, a member of his gang.
This is no reason to kill another young man no matter the circumstances. This is just a cruel act by Johnny Cade by murdering Bob Sheldon and another fantastic example on why Johnny Cade should be charged with second degree
Robert Sheldon murdered October 24th 1962 detectives are currently hunting the killers guided by an anonymous tip stating that the killers are headed for Texas. Through thorough investigation the murder weapon was identified as a knife or switchblade. Tulsa Police believe the killers to be 14 year old Ponyboy Curtis, and 16 year old Johnny Cade who went missing the night of the murder. Detectives believe the murder was an act of self defense as they found strands of dark hair matching that of Ponyboy Curtis. A water test ran by Tulsa police detectives show a high amount of fresh hair grease in the fountain in the park matching the description of Curtis even more.
There exists, in the world of criminal justice, a special group of criminals. These are criminals, that despite being minors, are charged as adults. Karter Kane Reed is in this group. When he was just 16, he stabbed and killed Jason Robinson. He was found guilty of second-degree murder and was sentenced to life in prison, albeit, with the possibility of parole after having served 15 years of incarceration.
The criminal case I have selected for this assignment is on Justin Morton; who at the age of fourteen years old Morton was the first youth convicted of first-degree murder section 231 CC. In spite of this, Justin expresses to his psychiatrist his impulse and desire for inflicting pain on others; he claims to have no remorse for the murder of Eric Levrack. "As a matter of fact, after the killing on April 1, 2003, Morton had turned himself in, he described the event as an open game of trust just before he strangled Eric with a belt.
The teens had been seen drinking illegally before the tragic event. So, the cause of their death could have been because they were drunk. A teen was murdered last night. Her name was Nicole and she was already missing, until now. She was thirteen years old, and she relied on pills to keep her alive. She was already sick because of a disease. There were two teens who are suspects of her murder.
On Friday evening, the body of teenager Robert "Bob" Sheldon was found at a park in eastern Tulsa, laying next to a fountain with a knife wound in his abdomen. Further evidence suggests that the Sheldon had been intoxicated. No arrests have been made yet, but police suspect that it was a gang-related crime. Investigators believe that more than one person of each party had been involved as well. One of Sheldon’s companions, who was questioned, Randy Adderson, did not prove to be much help for the investigators.
