Hutchinson uses these two allusions: King John and Columbus. Both allusions illustrate the growth of the tree. The first allusion is King John. In the passage, it states that “King John must have been signing a certain document on the island of Runnymede around the time when a seed sprouted on an unknown continent and a tiny sprig of the green thrust itself up, among many others, from the floor of the jungle” (Hutchinson, line 10-12). In the phrase, this “certain document” is known as the magna carta, which was established in the year 1215.
Based on the reading and research that took place throughout the unit altogether, the conclusion of agreement has been met with Morgan’s central ideas because the famous figures aren 't the only ones who made history take place, the common people did also. In the speech “Chief Joseph Speak…,” the Nez Perce tribe became a big contribute to the westward expansion because they came to the conclusion that instead of fighting with the white men they would try to make peace with them (Nez Perce Chief P4 L22-24). In chapter 3 of Speaking of Jesus, Carl Medearis talks about what it means to own Christianity. He says "If we don't truly know what the gospel is, we have to find an explanation for Christianity." Meaning that if we do not know what the gospel is or what it is teaching us, then we try to define it by our own standards, and that is where it gets messy. Medearis talks about how Christianity is more than a religion, but it is a relationship and people tend to not understand that. He explains why people are so defensive and put up their guards towards Christians, because Christians can be so judgemental.
Most people wouldn’t change their view and accuse John of witchcraft. Lastly, Mr. Hale will resolve the different story lines because he is a religious leader. In the area that the story takes place religion is pretty involved in the laws. So by Mr. Hale
Trees have been used throughout the years to symbolize many different things. A popular one is that trees represent life overall. This meaning has been around for many years and goes across many different cultures. However, trees have had many other meanings. Throughout the chapter, Peter elaborates a theory of dialogue and dissemination as two distinct types of communication. Dialogue consists of a love and soul-to soul conversation between mutually present speakers, whereas dissemination involves the indiscriminate scattering of the messages (46). To illustrate the difference between the two conception of communication, Peter compares the communicative style of Socrates in Plato’s Phaedrus and Jesus’s parable of the sower in the synoptic gospel. Socrates serves as a model of dialogue, while Jesus serves as a model of dissemination. Socrates believed that dialogue is the preferred human state of communication where each individual contributes equally to the conversation in an intimate setting of dialectic and ‘reciprocity and interaction’ (33) are central in the exchange of communication.
In my opinion I believe that John Oakhurst is not an outcast. Well I am going to list three reasons why I believe he’s not an outcast. The first reason is that, he was a gentleman. The second reason is because he was a leader to the other outcasts. The third reason why I think John Oakhurst is not an outcast, is because of social judgement.
In crafting his highly effective sermon, Edwards utilizes his authority as a man of God and as an interpreter of the scriptures, a logical and direct organization of arguments, and violent imagery to convince his audience of the vengeance of God against man. Jonathan Edwards begins his sermon by quoting

According to James Barr, the concept of literal is the useful one in the understanding of the bible. In his article, he mentions reading the Bible through two ways of readings: the literal and the allegorical. Later allegorical interpretation was mostly used. Sometimes, many people think that reading the bible literally is wrong, and for some people reading literally is meaningful. In some cases, the Bible can read literally and in some cases if we read literally its meaning is changed.
The Gospel of John positions love as the building block for what sets everything in motion. According to this gospel, love is resembled as the quintessence of God, and those who love Jesus will reap the benefits. Plans and agendas, don't work out well for those who do not love Jesus. God's most important gift to mankind is His love through Jesus Christ. This is a message that the world needs to hear and that witnesses must proclaim.
Isaiah 53 When studying the bible, you can find that there is not place in all the Old Testament is it so plainly and fully prophesied. One of the regular vendors who walked along the trail, once in the morning and once at dusk, was a local girl of 15 named Taize - known as the “cashew girl” - for that nut was all she sold, carrying a wide tray full of packages on her head. From the time I arrived, she had greeted me with a wide, happy smile, and strove to walk at my side whenever possible; however I never gave her much thought. Today, because of the slippery and muddy conditions due to the recent rains, she toted her cargo with an unusually cautious stride. For the reason that this morning I had not seen a human being on the ground except Ricardo, as usual, which his master considers a four-legged humanoid - and probably spent the night enduring the storm under my lounge chair - I walked slowly by the girl’s side, which obviously made her blistering happy.
