Apostle John was a prominent figure in the early Church. This was due to the time he spent with Jesus. During Jesus’ ministry, John was an eyewitness to His word and actions. A relationship was this built between John and Jesus which would make him “the disciple whom Jesus loved.” This would later credit Apostle John as the author of one of the four gospels named John. The book of John focuses on its own idea that is different from the other three books. It closely captures the idea of Jesus being the Messiah. John shows that “Jesus is the Christ” by highlighting Jesus’ miracles as examples. Miracles are events that can be understood by scientific law. They thus are thought to have come from a higher power. One example of a miracle Jesus performed is the water to wine. This miracle starts with Jesus attending a wedding at Cana in Galilee. Jesus and his disciples saw a man that was born blind. The disciples questioned Jesus on what the man had done wrong that he been born this way. Jesus told them that the man had not gone blind from sin, but he was blind so “that the works of God might be displayed in him.”. That is exactly what He did. Before Jesus heals the man he tells His disciples who he is. This is a great example of John showing that “Jesus is the Christ”. This since He says “As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the World.” By saying this Jesus is declaring himself as the Christ. Following this statement, He splits into the mud and anointed the man’s eye with the mud. He then tells the blind man to wash his face, and the man's eyes opened. The man then became a teller, telling of what Christ had done. When neighbors asked how he was able to see, the man told of Jesus’ miracle. This would spread the message of Jesus to even more
