Matthew At the beginning of the Gospel it starts out with the birth of Jesus, it had explained that Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph. One day Joseph found out that Mary was pregnant, but they were not married yet. Joseph did not want to marry her but in a dream an angel came to Joseph and told him “do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.” (Matt.1:20) He did as he was told and married her, and she gave birth to a son and he named him Jesus. They lived in a town called Judea, in Bethlehem, the king at the time was Herod. He did not know that Jesus was born in his town until the Magi came and asked him where the baby was. He told them to go find him and then come back there and tell him where the child is. The Magi left in search of Jesus, they found him and presented him with gifts. In a dream they were told not to go back to Herod so they went a different route. Herod found out that he was out witted and was furious so he told his soldiers to kill any child that is two and under. Matthew also speaks about the many miracles that Jesus did. What he is known for is healing the sick, crippled, deaf, mute and many more. Over all he was an incredible human that went out of his way to help people and to show that God is with them. Jesus had twelve disciples who went to people and told them about the words of Christ, one of his disciples turned on him. His name was Judas, Judas helped with the capture and arrest of Jesus Christ. He was the one who showed the chief priest where he was.
