Joshua and the Conquest of Cannon
Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt but never made it into the promise land. After the death of Moses, Joshua became the leader and delivered the Israelites into the promise land. This journey did not come without battles and conquest. In fact, the conquest stretched out over seven years, took many cities, and dozens of kings were defeated. Joshua took over rule at Shittim, in the Plains of Moab. His first order of business as a new leader was to send spies to Jericho before crossing the Jordan.
Crossing the Jordan
The Jordan River is not slow and stagnant, rather it is vigorous and filled with rushing waters. The Israelites had crossed through a parted sea once already during the leadership of Moses. According to Bible, the Israelites were to follow behind the arch of the covenant, carried by one man from each of the twelve tribes. The water was flowing until the men stepped into the Jordan and instantly the river was parted, the river bed dried up, and the Israelites crossed. The extraordinary part of this is that the river bed was dry, according to Joshua 3:16 in scripture.

Joshua was given a unique set of instructions from the Lord. He was told to march around the wall one time while blowing their horns, with his armed guards and the arch of the covenant, for six days. After circling the wall one time each of these six days, the men returned to their camp. On the seventh day, the same routine was followed but instead of circling the wall once, they went around seven times. On the seventh trip around the wall, Joshua gave a command and when the horns were blown the men shouted and the walls of Jericho fell. This allowed the Israelites to take the land killing every living thing except Rahab and the members in her house because she kept the spies and was protected under the order of the
