Judaism is an Ancient monotheistic religion, with the Torah as its holy text which is apart of a larger text called a Tanakh or Hebrew Bible. Jewish history began with the covenant established between God and Abraham around 1812 BC, during the Bronze Age, in the Middle East. To Jews, Muslims, and Christians Abraham is considered the father of the religions. Abraham is the founder of Judaism. Moses, is also an important figure he was believed to have given the Jews the Torah in around 1250 B.C. The Torah contains the laws of God. Jews celebrate Passover as a commemoration of their liberation by God from slavery in Egypt and their freedom as a nation. Jews believe that the Messiah has not come yet as prophesied in the Torah.
