For my final essay and project in this course I would like to propose my idea of the architecture within The Juilliard School located in New York. For the many interested in the arts, dance music and drama this school is a dream. It offers a higher level of education and the best arts program ever known. As a dancer and a dance teacher now I look at Juilliard as a higher level as so many amazing dancers come out of that school. Like i said it is a dream for many who want to pursue the arts. Although we have schools like York and Ryerson that offer amazing arts programs including dance, Juilliard still seems to be the dream for most as it does offer so much more and because it is located in New York it is the perfect opportunity for people …show more content…

I want to focus on the architecture within Juilliard as it is truly amazing. They are many different buildings for different programs and a few famous architects which I found interesting from my preliminary research. Although my focus is on the architecture and the architects my main focal point here would be the course theme visionary change; Here we look at the more utopian visions of designers and architects as they attempt to apply their knowledge to create a better world. When I was looking through the course themes this theme just really popped out to me because it seemed to be a direct correlation with the topic I had decided to go with. I feel that Juilliard is visionary as it attempts to create a better world for students who are interested in pursuing arts. I will include my major sections of the essay, how I would like to approach this topic, my methods and theories and other research methods I may include which I feel can be really broad with this topic. I would like to have four major sections of this essay. These four sections would be; The history and architecture of Juilliard relating to the course, Pietro Belluschi, Alice Tully Hall and how Juilliard is seen as visionary in creating a better world for these arts students. I would use these sections as the main parts and the body paragraphs of my essay. I would like to approach this topic with a personal feel and my personal take and interests when it comes to the arts and dance and the types of school options there are. I think my approach should be more personal because it is something I am interested in and in making this approach personal I feel like I will be able to get more into my essay and enjoy writing it. As for methods for my essay I would like to make sure I am very methodical in my approach so that I cover all aspects of my essay. I will make sure I have all necessary research and that all my major sections are covered. I also want to make sure that I can find some information beyond scholarly research. Some other research methods I would like to try using would be interviews and observations. I feel that these two techniques when it comes to my topic would be best. I think
