Juliet's Demise In Romeo And Juliet

207 Words1 Pages
Juliet's Demise In Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, Juliet is solely and entirely responsible for her own death. Juliet herself is the person who stabs herself with a dagger in the chest. Romeo kills himself because he thinks Juliet is dead, which is Juliet’s fault for pretending to die with a sleeping potion. Once she found out that Romeo is her enemy, she had the choice to leave him behind, or to sneak around her parents’ backs; and she chose to keep it a secret, which caused many deaths in the process, including her own. Juliet’s death can be traced back to every choice that she makes, because only she controls her actions. Juliet’s father can be blamed for her death because, after all, he was the one that was forcing her to marry Paris.
