In Shakespeare's play Julius Caesar, both Brutus and Antony use ethos, pathos, and logos to persuade the crowd to believe whether Caesar's death was the right or wrong thing to do. Throughout the play it is shown that Antony was the best persuader. He is a good persuader because he uses retained knowledge of Caesar to use in his speeches to make it seem he is a good guy and he is the right one to follow in leadership. Brutus uses ethos when persuading the people that Caesars death will benefit the city of Rome, by stating that everyone should know him for being an honorable man, "Believe me on my honor and keep my honor in mind …" (Shakespeare, 127).
